IT STARTs WITH _
An endless passion for music,
for discovery, for people, for life.
Lynn Lockamy – a mainstay on the very competitive NY music scene is an artist to be reckoned with, having worked with Aaron Hall, Mary J. Blige, CeCe Winans, Josh Groban, Ricardo of the Gypsy Kings and Whitney Houston. Her releases “Torture” and “At the Club”can be heard in heavy rotation on WBLS in New York, as well as radio stations throughout Europe, and South Africa. As of 2013, Lynn Lockamy has two new singles and an older release that has re-emerged in the Top 20 Soulful Dance charts on Traxsource.com while performing American hit songs in one of Dubai’s largest venues. The dance single, Hostile Takeover has made such an impact that international DJays like Tony Humphries, Kenny Carpenter Frankie Knuckles and DJ Spen have all volunteered to remix the song that will be featured on a compilation album to be released August 2013. The single, Warning, has been living on the dance charts in two spots (the original mix and the remix)for the last six weeks. All three singles, Hostile Takeover, At the Club and Warning were played at the International Promoter’s Meeting in Rome and have become the talk of dance music promoters and Djays, affording Lynn the opportunity to write and record for additional producers in Ibiza and Greece.
In 2002 she released “Fire” by Kerry Chandlar. In 2007, she also released Music, I’ll Be Around, and Music in Switzerland produced by Santiago Cortez. Since that release Lynn has penned numerous international dance hits like Warning, Hostile Takeover, You Move Me, Someone Like You, Torture, and At the Club; the last two have been burning up the airwaves for the last two years. In 2011, Lynn made her way to Shanghai, China where she performed for the King and Queen of Sweden following the world renowned artist, Janet Jackson! Lynn is currently working on her follow up music project with her first release entitled Flesh is Weak!
As a child, Lynn was already singing for notables such as former NY Mayor Ed Koch, and Jesse Jackson. In her teen years she was a member of the Grammy award winning gospel ensemble, Hezekiah Walker and the Love Fellowship Choir. She got her first break as a solo recording artist in her college years, when two up and coming producers asked her to lend her vocal talents to their dance music tracks, “Love So Strong” and “Hanging On”. Shortly after Lynn found herself on a 6 month gospel tour through Europe with Queen Esther Marrow. During that time she started penning her own R& B songs and auditioning for Broadway. She was actually offered the part of Joanne in the hit musical “Rent.” Sneaking her demo to a limo driver, Prince and Matthew Knowles both got to hear the talent that is Lynn Lockamy and noted her as a songwriter worthy of hire.
In addition to all of this, Lynn enjoys writing songs, but it is her voice that gets the audiences’ attention. She is a permanent staple in the LaBamba Band, which most know from the Conan O’Brien Late Night Talk Show on TBS. Lynn has been known to sing everything from Led Zeppelin to Aretha Franklin with “LaBamba” touring across the country to Turks and Caicos. Most recently, Lynn performed with LaBamba at the newly opened Sony Hall in New York City.
In 2017, Lynn’s voice took her to Moscow where she performed for royalty (the King and Queen of Sweden) and their closest friends including the band ABBA. During her leisure time, while walking through Red Square, Lynn was pleasantly surprised to hear her original music broadcasting over the speakers for the tourists to enjoy!
Finally, this summer 2018, Lynn surprised her fans with a one- woman show at The Bitter End featuring new music from her upcoming album. Her band and backing vocalists, an all-male team of musicians, made for a solid musical base conveying her message to an awaiting audience. Since that time, Lynn has continued to write and record her upcoming album and she is excited for its release. Lynn’s new project, The Human Condition, should definitely be the talk of the international music scene in the near future.
